On a chilly September evening we were entertained and surprised when Jean Finney told us the origins of Nursery Rhymes we learnt as children, read to our own children and still remembered all the words. We discovered “Mary, Mary quite contrary” was actually Queen Mary Tudor; “Goosey goosey gander” was during Oliver Cromwell's time and was about Priest holes and “Georgy Porgey Pudding and pie” was about George Villiers.

We are looking forward to our Craft Show and hearing Harry Watson talk about the Humorous side of Policing at the October meeting; and new committee members at the November AGM.
