Willaston History Group

Willaston History Group was set up in 2009 to research and document the history of Willaston and its surrounding parishes.  We meet at St Luke's, Coppice Road, Willaston on the first Wednesday of the month, commencing 7.30 pm.  Our programme for the rest of the year is as follows:

1st August:  Annual Village Walk
Andrew Lamberton's traditional 'walk and talk' event.  Members only.

5th September:  Crime and Criminals in Crewe and Nantwich
Barry Godfrey gives a revealing insight into some of the crimes which have taken place in this part of Cheshire.

3rd October:  Oulton - Cheshire's real-life Downton Abbey
Mark Bevan's amazing story about the Oulton Estate and the Egerton Family.

7th November:  Hospital Street, Nantwich
Andrew Lamberton looks back at the origin and evolution of Hospital Street and some of the people who lived and worked there.

5th December:  Christmas Special
An evening of music, mince pies, mulled wine and merriment.  Members only.
