The Queen's 90th Birthday Celebrations

To support the Queen’s 90th birthday celebrations, Cheshire East Council will be providing grants of up to £100 for community and neighbourhood groups to hold street parties/celebratory events, in their local areas. They hope that as many communities as possible across Cheshire East will join together to celebrate this very special occasion. Details can be found on the Cheshire East Council website www.cheshireeast.gov.uk/thequeenat90. Please note that the deadline date for applying for funding is Friday May 6th.  Guidance notes.

In order for a street party to go ahead, a road closure is required. A simple application form has been prepared, unique to this event, for members of the public. All applications will be considered and checked for any potential conflicts with programmed works on the highway and if / once approved, will be included in a temporary traffic regulation order that will cover all the approved events. Please note that the deadline date for applying for a road closure is Friday April 29th.  Of course, not all street parties need to take place on the street as you may have a local green or field that you could use.  Please ensure that you have the landowners permission to hold a party if you do not own the land.

The street party road closure application will be free of charge and applicants will be sent a receipt of their application and informed within five days, whether their application has been successful or not. Please go to the Highways page on the Cheshire East Website www.cheshireeast.gov.uk/queensroadclosures

Cheshire East Highways will advise of any reasons for refusal and will try to assist with a possible resolution.
